1995 /96 Manchester United away
The 1995–96 Manchester United grey away kit, designed by Umbro, is one of the most iconic—and infamous—shirts in the club’s history. Featuring a light grey base with a subtle graphic pattern, red and black accents, and the Sharp Viewcam sponsor, it was worn by legends like Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs, and David Beckham during a season that saw United clinch both the Premier League and the FA Cup. However, the kit became notorious after a match against Southampton in April 1996. Trailing 3–0 at halftime, Sir Alex Ferguson ordered the team to change into their blue and white third kit, citing that the grey shirts made it difficult for players to distinguish each other on the pitch. This decision led to a £10,000 fine and the immediate retirement of the grey kit, making it one of the least worn shirts in Premier League history.
